While it's opening weekend for high school football in Greater Cincinnati, Hughes High School and Summit Country Day School will join Lebanon and Springboro high schools as teams that have to sit this one out.
The Hughes Big Red athletics Twitter account reported around 5:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20, that the night's game would be canceled due to COVID-19 protocols.

People who purchased tickets will be reimbursed in a timely manner, the tweet states.
"The game was canceled due to some positive cases in our football department," Hughes athletic director Andrew Mueller said. "After working with the Cincinnati Health Department and our district athletics department, we have determined it would be safest to cancel the game at this time."
Summit Country Day AD Greg Dennis acknowledged that it would be hard to get another game in for his Silver Knights.
"I'm very disappointed for my kids and coaching staff," Dennis said. "Had I known this yesterday we would be playing Reading or Finneytown."
Reading's game with Hillcrest and Finneytown's game with Lockland was also canceled. As a result, Reading and Finneytown are playing tonight.
This cancellation comes after Lebanon athletic director Keith Pantling announced Monday, Aug. 16, that their Friday night game at Springboro had to be canceled because of contact tracing.
