2 teens arrested after leading deputy on a chase in stolen car in Sycamore Township


Two teenagers were arrested Sunday after leading police on a chase in a stolen car in Sycamore Township, the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office said.The chase began around 1:17 a.m. when a deputy on patrol saw the two teens, 15 and 17 years old, running from a gas station and getting into a car.The deputy believed a robbery could have taken place and followed the car onto the highway.The deputy then recognized the car matched the description of a 2007 Toyota Corolla stolen from a different gas station. He tried to pull the car over but the teens didn't stop, leading the deputy on a short, high speed pursuit, which ended when the suspect's car lost control, ran off the side of the road and into a ditch.The two teens fled on foot but were arrested shortly after.No one was hurt in the chase or crash.After investigating, officers found the teens did rob the gas station and were both then charged with theft, obstructing official business, and theft of a motor vehicle. Both juveniles were taken to the Hamilton County Juvenile Court Youth Center.
