After a month of blowing up on Greater Cincinnati social media, the Crosstown tip-off has made it national.
The Crosstown tip-off involves alumni and fans of the University of Cincinnati and Xavier University leaving generous tips, totaling more than $1,000 at local restaurants.
The tip-off was featured on the "Today Show" on Monday, earning praise from host Hoda Kotb. Last week, it got a spot on ABC News.

The Crosstown tip-off started at Zip's Cafe on Jan. 9 but has now reached more than 20 restaurants.
Rival fans across Cincinnati have left mega tips almost every day, sometimes multiple times a day. The money is then shared with the entire restaurant staff.
Tips are soaring to the thousands, most recently a $3,000 tip was left at Clutch OTR and over $2,000 left at Forno Hyde Park, Kirby's in Loveland and R P McMurphy's.
On Saturday alone, a total of $6,232 in tips were left by fans, according to Facebook posts.
