Former Cincinnati Bearcats standout Travis Kelce didn't get to experience another Super Bowl win, but he did have a game-high 10 catches with 133 yards for the Kansas City Chiefs in their 31-9 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl LV.
Kelce's reaction, via USA TODAY Sports' Twitter:
On Monday night, Kelce had a good joke about his role in a Super Bowl ad:
Kelce, 31, was a third-round pick from UC in the 2013 draft who has spent his entire NFL career with Kansas City. A Pro Bowler for the fifth time in his NFL career, he finished the regular season with 97 catches for 1,229 yards with five touchdowns, in addition to a score on his only rush of the season.
About one year ago, Kelce scored the first-ever Super Bowl touchdown by a former UC Bearcat as he became the 13th Bearcat to win a Super Bowl.
Defensive back Mike Edwards, tight ends coach Rick Christophel and assistant strength and conditioning coach Cory Bichey are the three members of the champion Bucs with Cincinnati ties.
