The University of Cincinnati men's basketball game Thursday at Memphis has been postponed due to positive COVID-19 cases and the contact tracing of student-athletes within the Tigers' program, the American Athletic Conference (AAC) announced on Wednesday.
The game was supposed to be the Bearcats' third since returning from a 25-day layoff due to COVID-19 issues both within the UC program and at South Florida.
Memphis (12-6, 8-3 AAC) is the last team in the AAC to have a game affected by a positive test within its own program. Prior to Wednesday, the Tigers had three straight games postponed in January due to issues within other programs.
Cincinnati (5-7, 3-4 AAC), which has won two straight and three of its past four, will now complete its two-game season series with Temple on Friday at Fifth Third Arena. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. on ESPN+.
The Bearcats ended their 25-day game-less streak with a 63-60 win at Temple on Feb. 4. UC junior guard David DeJulius scored a career-high 26 points in the victory.
Cincinnati is scheduled to host Central Florida on Sunday. That game is scheduled for 1 p.m. on ESPN+.
