The Indians continue to add outfield depth as spring training draws near.

On Thursday night, the Indians signed speedy outfielder Billy Hamilton to a minor-league deal that includes an invitation to big-league camp, pending a physical, according to a report from Daniel Alvarez Montes of El Extrabase. The reported signing comes a few hours after the Indians signed outfielder Ben Gamel to a similar deal.

Hamilton, 30, has been one of the more dangerous players in the game when on the base paths. The problem is that he hasn't gotten on base enough to make it really count as a semi-regular player, and his sprint speed has slowed in the past few years.

Last season Hamilton hit a combined .125 with a .390 OPS in 36 plate appearances with the Chicago Cubs and New York Mets. In 2019, he slashed .218/.289/.275 with the Kansas City Royals and Atlanta Braves. He has a career .241/.296/.325 slash line with 305 stolen bases.
