Sleet, snow makes for slick roads Tuesday morning

LEBANON, Ohio — Ohio Department of Transportation crews are working to clear the roads of snow and ice after snow fell on top of a wintry mix overnight.

Anywhere from 3-5’’ of snow fell in most areas of the Tri-State overnight on top of 1-2’’ of wintry mix. Road conditions coupled with wind chills in the single digits has made progress slow for road crews.

More than 120 ODOT snow plow operators are working across Butler, Clermont, Clinton, Greene, Hamilton, Preble and Warren counties Tuesday morning.

Indiana Department of Transportation officials reported difficult travel conditions at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday and asked drivers to stay home unless travel was necessary.

Kentucky Department of Transportation District 6 crews started treating roads Monday evening. Crews will work to clear 4,600 miles of road.

Drivers should remember to give crews plenty of room while they are working to clear the roads.
