Ohio has passed a milestone in the fight against COVID-19.The Ohio Department of Health reports just over half the population in the state has now received at least one dose of the vaccine.The department also reporting 1,413 new COVID-19 cases as of Sunday, Aug. 8. The state reporting a decrease of 904 cases in the last 24 hours.The vaccination numbers are easing the minds of some parents preparing their children to go back to school.Princeton city school district parent Jada Laveaux says she is pleased with how her district handled the pandemic last year and is confident school leaders will put the safety of her children first."They were very good at reporting and keeping those kids out of school, so I'm not concerned at all, at least with the Princeton School District," said Laveaux.Laveaux says her daughter is fully vaccinated and she's hoping to keep her in school for in-person learning. But parents also say they know the virus is unpredictable, and are willing to go with the flow and make adjustments as needed."It all changes pretty much day by day so gotta take it day by day," said parent Bryan Miller.
