Cincinnati Reds rookie Jonathan India has emerged as a top contender for the National League Rookie of the Year Award, and Tyler Stephenson - also eligible for the award - has impressed as well, especially in June (.305 batting average, .996 OPS) and July (.322 batting average).
Neither player appeared in the latest edition of the Rookie Hot List - covering games played July 21-Aug. 3 - from MLB.com's Jonathan Mayo, much to the chagrin of the Reds and some of their fans voicing frustration on Twitter.
India did get a mention from Mayo in the ar:
There were so many strong offensive performances that standout rookies like Brent Rooker, Ryan Jeffers, Dylan Carlson and Jonathan India didn’t make the cut.
And Mayo acknowledged via Twitter that India's OPS during the period in question was an impressive (but not impressive enough to make the list) .917:

Stephenson had seven hits, scored six runs and struck out just three times between July 21 and Aug. 3.
