Mason Faulkner, former NKU Norse guard, decommits from Colorado

Former Northern Kentucky Norse guard Mason Faulkner, who played the past two seasons for Western Carolina, announced via Instagram on Tuesday night that he's decommitting from Colorado to be closer to his family in Kentucky.

Faulkner averaged 6.5 points, 2.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game over two seasons for the Norse from 2016 to 2018. NKU granted Faulkner his release in April 2018.

Faulkner redshirted at WCU during the 2018-19 season, and averaged 17.4 points, 5.8 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game for the Catamounts over the past two seasons.

Faulkner can play an additional season of college basketball thanks to the NCAA's free year of eligibility related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Faulkner committed to CU in April.
