A local Facebook group known for it's love of food is sharing that love with a Texas mom and daughter.Brittany Allen said this trip to Cincinnati is her first out of the Lonestar State.Unfortunately, it's not a vacation"We have been battling cloacal exstrophy with my daughter," she said.The almost 2-year-old was born with part of her large intestine outside her body.Allen said her daughter's condition went downhill after surgery in March.Raylynn was flown to Cincinnati.There rest of their family is back home. "The first week or two weeks of me being here it was almost $500-$600 on Lyft and Uber trying to get food here for me," said Allen.Allen sleeps at the hospital and has no car.After four weeks of the same food, she found the Chowdown Cincinnati group on Facebook and asked for restaurant recommendations. "She's looking for help, she's looking for community and of course we have that to offer," said founder Brandon Quillen.Quillen started the group to support local restaurants.He saw Allen's post as an opportunity."I can't describe how good it feels and I'm just the vessel who created the meal train," he said.The meal train is a first for the group.It's already raised more than $600 with several people signing up to deliver homemade meals. "Awesome to know people really do reach out and care," said Allen.Allen said it helps pay for things like delivery and the homemade meals feed her soul."I'm just blessed for it. It's nice. It's definitely unexpected," she said.
