Colin Cowherd compared several NFL quarterbacks to Cleveland Browns starter Baker Mayfield on Fox Sports' The Herd, and acknowledged that he was off in his initial assessment of Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow.
Cowherd said Burrow is among quarterbacks he would want to have more than Mayfield for the next five seasons.
"I think Burrow's really special," Cowherd said Tuesday. "I thought Burrow would be a good NFL quarterback. I think I made a mistake. I think he's really, really special."
Burrow appeared on Cowherd's show in January and insisted that he'll be ready for the start of next season.
Cowherd started to change his tune on Burrow last August when he said the Bengals' quarterback already got what took Mayfield two years to get.
Last April, Cowherd said Burrow is "not physically impressive" and was "at a major disadvantage" with the Bengals.
Last June, Cowherd said Burrow would "struggle mightily" for the Bengals, and added days later that "the train is off the tracks" with regard to hype for Burrow.
