An air quality alert has been issued by the Southwest Ohio Air Quality Agency for Monday across Greater Cincinnati.
The alert is a signal that levels of ozone are expected to be in the "unhealthy for sensitive groups" range in the region's air quality index, according to a release from the agency.
The counties included in the alert are Butler, Clermont, Hamilton and Warren counties in Ohio; and Boone, Campbell, and Kenton counties in Kentucky; and Dearborn County in Indiana.
The agency offers tips to improve air quality Tuesday: riding the bus or carpooling, filling up gas tanks after 8 p.m., avoiding letting a car sit idling, combining trips, not mowing lawns, avoiding using oil-based paints and stains and turning off lights and appliances,
The agency also issued an air quality alert for the region on May 25.
