Cincinnati Reds outfielder Jesse Winker is winning over New York Mets fans at Citi Field who don't seem to like him very much - even one who made a sign, per SNYtv, insulting Winker.
During the broadcast of Saturday night's Reds-Mets game, SNY shared video of Winker tossing a fan a signed ball Friday night and asking the fan to read the message. The ball the fan showed on TikTok read, "Loved the sign! I'm collecting them this year."
The fan gave Winker a thumbs-up after catching the balland blew Winker a kiss, and Winker gave a thumbs-up in return.
From SNYtv via Twitter (Warning: video contains offensive language):
Winker has had a relationship with Mets' fans attending games at Citi Field going back - at least - to May 2019, when he waved to fans in the outfield after securing the final out in a 1-0 win for the Reds.
