Two Northern Kentucky Fraternal Order of the Police lodges partnered up to "cram the cruiser," with school supplies for Kenton County students.Kenton County Police FOP Lodge 44 and Independence FOP Lodge 75 hosted the collection event outside the Kroger Marketplace in Independence on Saturday.The school supplies collected benefit students in the Independence School District and southern schools in the Kenton County School District."This year, where we hope kids will return to a more normal school year, we just really wanted to make sure that they were well prepared," said Aaron Schihl, Lodge 44 president.The cruiser started filling up early with donations. "Don't worry," Schihl joked. "We got plenty of space, we can take more."Officers will be accepting donations until 4 p.m. Saturday.Schihl said anyone interested in donating beyond the event can find fundraisers and future events on the Kenton County Police FOP Lodge 44 Facebook page.
