COVID-19 vaccine did not cause the death of UC student

A COVID-19 vaccine did not cause the death of a University of Cincinnati student back in April, according to the Hamilton County Coroner.

John Foley died on April 11, after receiving the Johnson & Johnson vaccine the day before.

Rumors quickly circulated that the vaccine was responsible for the 21-year-old's death.

His family released a statement at the time asking the public to await an answer from investigators before jumping to conclusions.

The Hamilton County Coroner said the cause of death was heart failure.

Foley was a junior studying Medical Sciences at the University of Cincinnati.

His family remembers him as generous, caring, loving, and lit with grace from within that showed in his smile.
