Former Covington Catholic High School standout CJ Fredrick, a guard who played for the Iowa Hawkeyes for the past two seasons, will enter the NCAA transfer portal, according to multiple reports via Twitter late Sunday night and early Monday morning.
As a sophomore, Fredrick averaged 7.5 points in 24.7 minutes per game and shot 47.4 percent from 3-point range in 27 games this past season. A lower-leg injury limited his playing time in February.

As a redshirt freshman for the Hawkeyes during the 2019-20 season, he averaged 10.2 points per game and shot 46.1 percent from 3-point range in 25 games.
Fredrick scored a career-best 23 in a loss last December at Minnesota. He scored 21 in the Hawkeyes' win against the Cincinnati Bearcats in Dec. 2019.
Fredrick's teammate at Iowa, Jack Nunge, announced earlier this month that he'll play for the Xavier Musketeers as a transfer.
When CJ's father, Chuck, graduated from Greenhills High School, he was the school’s all-time boys' basketball scoring leader.
