Cincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto became just the third player in franchise history with seven home runs in a five-game span - joining Johnny Bench (1972) and Jay Bruce (2010) - with his second consecutive two-homer game against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field.
"I guess I'm channeling my inner Jay Bruce right now," Votto told Bally Sports Ohio's Jim Day after the game.
Votto's fifth consecutive game with a home run came in an 8-2 win for the Reds.
