NASHVILLE – Considering Nashville SC's unbeaten home record, FC Cincinnati was already in a tough spot when Nashville's C. J. Sapong scored in the 13th minute.
When Nashville doubled its lead through Randall Leal in the 35th minute, getting anything positive from the match looked unlikely.
Finally, Sapong's second goal of the game in the 57th minute cemented FC Cincinnati's capitulation.
Cincinnati had few threatening moments and no on-target shots at that point. Neither changed by the time referee Guido Gonzalez Jr.'s whistle blew to end the match.
Nashville kept pushing and nearly found a fourth goal at several moments before eventually closing out the 3-0 win on Saturday at Nissan Stadium.
The loss dropped FC Cincinnati to 3-7-4 in 2021.
