If you think you eat a lot of chicken wings, you're not alone.
In honor of National Chicken Wing Day this Friday, July 29, food site Pantry & Larder created an interactive map, looking at the states that eat the most chicken wings. It's based on the average number eaten by states' residents each year.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Ohio ranked eighth overall, with Buckeyes eating an average of 108 wings per year. Indiana ranked 18th, with an average of 93 wings per year, and Kentucky ranked 28th, eating an average of 82 per year.
The state in first place? South Carolina, where residents eat an average of 182 chicken wings each year. Georgia and North Carolina trail not far behind, with 124 and 116 per year, respectively.
Idaho ranked last out of the 50 states, with Idahoans consuming an average of 43 wings a year.
To calculate the results, Pantry & Larder used annual national consumption data from none other than the National Chicken Council, based on a state-level trends report.
