Cincinnati Reds fans might best remember outfielder Jose Siri for his Midwest League-record 39-game hitting streak in 2017 with the Class-A Dayton Dragons.
Siri, 25 and now with the Houston Astros as a non-roster invitee to Spring Training, would've just as soon avoided headlines this week - as his encounter with St. Louis Cardinals catcher and long-time Reds nemesis Yadier Molina was the subject of a video that has been shared widely since Jomboy Media published it Sunday night via Twitter.
In the video, Siri gestures toward Molina after Molina attempted to pick him off first base. Molina dares Siri to steal second, and it doesn't go well for Siri:
The Reds signed Siri out of the Dominican Republic in 2012. He hasn't played in the Majors but did play for the Triple-A Louisville Bats in 2019 before the Reds designated him for assignment in Jan. 2020.
