Former Cincinnati chief of police James Craig announced Wednesday he wants to run for governor of Michigan.Craig, who recently retired as chief of police in Detroit, said he has formed an exploratory committee, allowing him to raise and spend money for a potential run for the state's top job.He left Cincinnati to take the police chief job in Detroit. He retired in June.He has been a critical voice of democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and her handling of the pandemic.
