Megan Thee Stallion and H.E.R. took home two of the biggest prizes of the night at Sunday's Grammy Awards.
H.E.R. won song of the year for "I Can't Breathe" and Megan Thee Stallion became the first female rapper to win the prestigious best new artist honor since Lauryn Hill in 1999 at the ceremony, hosted by Trevor Noah of "The Daily Show."
"I have never been more proud to be an artist," said H.E.R., who wrote the song over FaceTime with fellow writers Dernst Emile II and Tiara Thomas. In her acceptance speech, she also asked people all over the country to keep up the activist spirit shown last summer: "We are the change that we wish to see."

Miranda Lambert's "Wildcard" was named best country album, Harry Styles wore a lavender feather boa to accept his pop solo performance award for "Watermelon Sugar," and Megan Thee Stallion also took best rap performance for "Savage," her collaboration with Beyoncé.
Beyoncé also won best music video for "Brown Skin Girl," which featured the singer's 9-year-old daughter Blue Ivy, making her the second-youngest person to win a Grammy. Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande got best pop duo performance for 'Rain on Me," and Billie Eilish's "No Time to Die" (from the upcoming James Bond movie) took best song for visual media at the pre-show ceremony held before the main Grammys ceremony.
