Wednesday and Thursday will bring Greater Cincinnati a much-needed but brief break from the rain.
The National Weather Service said rain will return later this week. Local forecasters said to expect "persistent rainfall" Friday and Saturday.
"Heavy rain will lead to the potential for localized flooding Friday and Saturday," forecasters said.
Forecasters with the Weather Prediction Center said a cold front is expected to bring heavy rainfall to the Midwest and Ohio River Valley.
The storm could drop 1.5 inches to 3+ inches in isolated areas. Scattered and localized flash flooding will be possible, forecasters said.
