Green District, a Louisville-based build-your-own salad chain, plans to open its first Ohio store later this year Downtown on Fountain Square, according to a press release.
The fast-casual chain plans to open a 1,558-square-foot store by the end of the year next to the lobby of the Fifth Third Center at 33 E. Sixth St. in the space formerly occupied by Olive & Wine Bar, which closed in 2020.
Green District’s core menu offers seven signature chopped salads that can also be ordered as wraps.
Choices include "The 502," which features chicken, sharp cheddar, grape tomatoes, corn, black beans, red onions, avocado and is topped with tortilla chips.
The "Thai One On" comes with Sriracha shrimp, red cabbage, edamame, carrot, cucumber, green onion, dry-roasted peanuts, crispy wontons, and Thai peanut dressing.
The restaurant's build-your-own toppings include chickpeas, mandarin oranges, artichokes and fresh mozzarella, as well as more than a dozen house-made dressings.
The full menu can be found here.
Green District has three locations in Louisville with a fourth opening this summer.
A new location in downtown Indianapolis will also open soon, joining Green District's other Indiana store in Plainfield.
Green District co-founder Jordan Doepke is from Cincinnati.
"I was born and raised in Cincinnati and my family still lives there, so bringing Green District to this market was a high priority for me," Doepke said. "When you come to Green District, you can count on us to be fresh, to be real, and to be quality. It’ll bring a convenient option to grab a fast, healthy meal to eat out on the square."
