Former Bengals receiver/returner Alex Erickson to join Texans

Free-agent wide receiver and returner Alex Erickson, who hasn't missed a game through his first five National Football League seasons for the Cincinnati Bengals, is joining the Houston Texans on a one-year deal, according to a report Thursday night via Twitter from the Houston Chronicle's Aaron Wilson.

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Alex Erickson (12) catches a pass against the Houston Texans during the second half of an NFL football game Sunday, Dec. 27, 2020, in Houston.

Erickson, 28, signed as an undrafted free agent with the Bengals in 2016. He had 93 receptions over five seasons for 1,086 yards with a touchdown - including career-bests of 43 catches for 529 yards in 2019. He's also returned punts and kickoffs, and led the NFL in kick-return yardage with 810 as a rookie in 2016.
