"It's a little bit fly by the seat of your pants," Zondervan said.According to Zondervan, furniture shortages and delays are a nationwide problem caused by COVID-19.She said the pandemic shut down many furniture manufacturing plants and foam shortages, shipping container shortages and worker shortages make matter worse."Once upon a time it was three weeks to 12 weeks at the longest (for orders)," Zondervan said. "You're looking at a minimum of 16 to 20 weeks, and they can change the dates."Zondervan said Bruxvoort’s has some furniture warehoused to help soften the blow. but special orders may not be ready until winter. "If you're hosting Thanksgiving and you need new furniture, now is the time to come see somebody about what you want, because it will take that long where before it might have been four weeks," Zondervan said. Zondervan’s advice to furniture customers is to order early, relax and be patient.
