Man tries to steal helicopter at Florida airport after crashing through gate


Police in Florida said one man was involved in a hit-and-run crash, a home break-in, and the theft of a car.He was arrested Tuesday while allegedly trying to commit another crime: stealing a helicopter, officials said.In Kissimmee, what started with a crash spiraled further out of control. He allegedly continued on a mile or so from the neighborhood and then tore right through a gate at Kissimmee Gateway Airport.The stolen car couldn't drive any further, so police say he ran toward a helicopter. Security couldn't keep him from continuing on to steal yet another car that police say he allegedly crashed outside city limits. Osceola County deputies caught up with the suspect who was believed to be behind it all. They arrested Marti and took him to the hospital.He remains in the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, officials said.Once Marti is released from the hospital, police say he will be booked into the Osceola County Jail on at least 11 charges.
