Reactions to UCLA upset of Michigan in Elite 8

The 11th-seeded UCLA Bruins knocked off the top-seeded Michigan Wolverines on Tuesday night to continue an improbable journey from the First Four to the Final Four. And it's the first Final Four of former Cincinnati Bearcats head coach Mick Cronin's career.

UCLA Mick Cronin yells to his players during the Elite Eight round of the 2021 NCAA Tournament on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind.

"Players win games. I want to thank these kids for believing in me. These guys get all the credit. ... No one believed in us. ... That's how we like it," Cronin said in a TBS interview after the game.

Cronin and UCLA associate head coach Darren Savino (a former UC assistant under Cronin) join former Walnut Hills High School standout MaCio Teague - who scored a game-high 22 against Arkansas on Monday night to help the Baylor Bears advance - as Cincinnati-area connections to the Final Four.
