The trial of a former Covington Catholic High School basketball player accused of rape has ended with a jury in deadlock on two of three charges, according to Luis Kelly, Commonwealth's Attorney for Boone and Gallatin counties.
The prosecutor confirmed that the Boone County jury found Jacob Walter not guilty of a sodomy charge, and could not reach a unanimous decision on charges of rape and sodomy,
The 21-year-old is the son of Cincinnati Bengals great Joe Walter. Prior to the trial, he was on house arrest at his parent's house in Burlington.
He was arrested in December 2018 based on a sexual assault allegation involving Walter and an 18-year-old female.
