It will be the fifth meeting all-time between the Musketeers and the Buckeyes. Xavier's 1-3 against Ohio State and the last meeting came in the second round of the 2007 NCAA Tournament when the Buckeyes were a No. 1 seed and escaped with a 78-71 overtime win over Xavier, a No. 9 seed.
Xavier's also set to welcome Cincinnati in the Crosstown Shootout this season, it should make for a raucous atmosphere at Cintas Center coming off a season with limited fans due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Xavier's also scheduled to visit Oklahoma State in the Big East-Big 12 Battle and the Musketeers are slated to participate in the Preseason NIT Tip-Off at the Barclays Center against Iowa State, Virginia Tech and Memphis.
