“Amazing” is the only way 6-year-old Abigail could think to describe what happened this weekend.From heartbreak on Twitter, to the front row talking to her favorite player, the six-year-old Joey Votto super fan’s dreams came true.Abigail got a signed ball from Votto, free tickets from the Reds, and then she got to meet her baseball hero at the dugout for a grand slam moment this family of lifelong Reds fans will never forget.“When I when I was nine, I became a huge reds fan and Barry Larkin was my hero,” said Abigail’s mother Kristen Courtney. “So to see Abigail react the way that she did yesterday, it hit me on so many levels because obviously I felt for her. I was heartbroken for my child. And I also identified with that because if that happened with Barry Larkin I would have I would have cried too as a kid. So it just hit me on so many levels, but to see the response from Mr. Votto today and the whole Reds organization has been nothing but sweet and kind and caring. I can't, I have no words It has really touched my heart.”And her daughter and Votto’s biggest fan couldn’t agree more.“It's really touched our hearts together.”
