Hand pies sold at Kroger stores across the Cincinnati area have been recalled due to an undeclared egg allergen. O Pie O Bakehouse announced the voluntary recall Friday, saying its Chicken Pot Hand Pies and its Sagg Paneer Hand Pies may contain eggs.The ingredient label did not list an egg allergen, company officials said. These hand pies were sold for nearly two years, company officials said, between March 10, 2019, and April 7 of this year. They were sold at Kroger locations in Oakley, Hyde Park, Kroger-on-the-Rhine (Downtown), Western Hills, Corryville, Anderson, Harper’s Point, Liberty Township, Kyle’s Station, Beckett Ridge, Colerain, Harrison, Dent, Amelia, Lebanon and Mariemont.Officials with O Pie O said the issue was discovered during an inspection conducted by the Ohio Department of Agriculture. There have been no reports of illness involving products addressed in the recall, however, people who have an egg allergy or severe sensitivity to egg run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product. Individuals exhibiting signs or symptoms of food-borne illness or allergies should contact a physician immediately.Customers with an egg allergy who have purchased the affected product should dispose of it or return it to O Pie O Bakehouse for a refund
