A suspect was taken to the hospital after being shot by police following a 20 mile pursuit that ended in Newport Sunday.It happened around 5 a.m. on KY 18 when police tried to pull over a car but the driver refused to stop and began leading police on a 20 mile pursuit.Police said stop sticks were deployed along I-75 causing the driver to come to a stop in Newport Plaza.Officers said that's when they engaged with the suspect, who was shot and taken to UC Medical Center. Their condition is unknown.
