
Buffalo Bills Safety Damar Hamlin has been released from the hospital and returned to Buffalo, doctors with University of Cincinnati announced Monday.Dr. William Knight IV and Dr. Timothy Pritts said Hamlin has safely returned to Buffalo and is being monitored by the care team there.Watch the full press conference in the video player belowThe doctors said Hamlin was moved from critical to stable condition and was released Monday from the hospital where he was then transferred to a regional hospital in Buffalo. Hamlin even shared a tweet himself, saying "Headed home to Buffalo today with a lot of love on my heart. Watching the world come together around me on Sunday was truly an amazing feeling. The same love you all have shown me is the same love that I plan to put back into the world and more. Bigger than football!"According to Hamlin's tweets, he is being cared for at Buffalo General Hospital. As far as next steps, the doctors said it's still to early to detail what his long-term recovery will look like but anticipate the next steps involve physical therapy and rehabilitation. "We anticipate he will undergo an ongoing series of tests and evaluations to determine the etiology of what caused the incident on Monday night and to treat any pathology that might be found," Knight said. Knight said it's still to early to rule out any cause of what happened but further tests and care will help determine what took place. Since his collapse during the Monday Night Football game against the Bengals, doctors say Hamlin has been making remarkable improvement.Bengals coach Zac Taylor commented on Hamlin's remarkable progress at a press conference Monday afternoon. "That was, not even a week ago. There's no one in this room that would've expected he'd be in Buffalo. What we saw, even Tuesday morning. God is great, he works miracles. This is certainly a miracle. There's no question," Taylor said.Throughout the past week he has made significant progress, being taken off a breathing tube Friday morning and being able to breathe on his own and communicate with his family and team and also taking assisted walks with staff.
