Third-grader died unexpectedly earlier this year
THE MASON COMMUNITY, COMING TOGETHER TO REMEMBER THE LIFE OF J.J. DAY. THE THIRD GRADER DIED UNEXPECTEDLY IN JANUARY. NOW, HIS FAMILY IS RACG IN MAKE A DIFFERENCE FOR OTHER CHILDREN. >> IT WAS SO SUDDEN. AFTER J.J. PASSED AWAY, WE KNEW PRETTY QUICKLY THAT WE WANTED TO DO AN ORGANIZATION, AND WE WANTED TO HELP PEOPLE THROUGH J.J., BECAUSE WE KNOW HE WAS MEANT TO DO GREAT THINGS. >> IT’S AN EXTRAORDINARY EFFORT. EY HTHAVE HEARTS OF GOLD. THEY WTAN TO POUR IONT ORGANIZATIONS THAT ARE DOING GREAT THINGS FOR KIDS. >> I’D REALLY LIKTO DO A 5K. I’D REALLY LIKE TO GET A LOT OF PEOPLE OUT AT ONE TIME, AND GET A LOT OF SUPPORT, AND FUNDRAISING GOING SO WE CAN DO STUFF FOR OTHER PEOPLE. BUILDING BLOCKS FOR KIDS. THEY ARE A LOCAL NONPROFIT HERE IN MASON, AND THEY SUPPORT KSID WITH ALL KINDS OF DISADVANTAGES, WHETHER IT’S THAT THEY NEED THERAPY OR THEY NEE A FENCE FOR THEIR BACKYARD OR IF THEY NEED A NVAOR F WHEELCHAIR TRANSPORT. WE POWER THROUGH BY DOING THINGS LI THIS. A new race hit the pavement in Mason today for a special cause.The "LOVElikeJJ" 5k raised money for the Love Like JJ Foundation, which was established in memory of JJ Day. The Mason third-grader died unexpectedly in January.His parents decided to establish a foundation that helps children in the Greater Cincinnati community. They have hosted fundraisers and even published a book called "Love like JJ."Their cause brought dozens of people together for today's 5k, and everyone who laced up was wearing blue — JJ's favorite color.For more information on the Love Like JJ Foundation, click here.
