Fairfield High School in Butler County will host a pop-up COVID-19 vaccination clinic on Tuesday, according to a release from Fairfield City Schools.
Moderna, Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson vaccines will be available at the site, which is open to the public. Officials said students ages 12-17 who are in sports or clubs are especially encouraged to sign up.
The Pfizer vaccine, which is the only COVID-19 vaccine currently approved for children under the age of 18, was hard to come by in Butler County earlier this spring. The Butler County General Health District only received Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines until May 20, when officials said the first shipment of Pfizer was delivered to their department.
COVID-19:After months of availability, 2 of 5 Cincinnati area residents have the vaccine
"None of the three health departments/districts in Butler County have been allocated the Pfizer vaccine by the state," Butler County Health Commissioner Jennifer Bailer wrote to The Enquirer in early May. "Pfizer is the only vaccine approved for 16- and 17-year-olds. There are other entities across the county that DO have Pfizer and CAN vaccinate 16- and 17-year-olds."
Those providers included Walgreens, CVS and Kroger, though it was not clear how many doses of Pfizer were available at those sites.
Now, Bailer said the department offers all three vaccines at its clinics. Walk-ins are accepted on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to noon at the Butler County Fairgrounds on Fairgrove Avenue in Hamilton.

The COVID-19 vaccination clinic at Fairfield High School, located at 8800 Holden Boulevard in Fairfield, will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday. Fairfield families and staff can sign up online with access code B9W6SN6M6Q. Second doses will be administered on July 13.
Transportation to the vaccination clinic will be available for those living near the Fairfield Acres mobile home park. The vaccine bus, made possible by the Butler County Regional Transit Authority, will take residents to and from the high school every 30 minutes, according to the school district's website.
