The San Francisco 49ers and the Seattle Seahawks pursued Giovani Bernard before the former Cincinnati Bengals running back reportedly agreed Monday to a one-year deal with the Super Bowl LV champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to a report Monday via Twitter from ESPN's Jenna Laine.

Bernard was released by the Bengals last week after eight seasons in Cincinnati. The Enquirer's Tyler Dragon wrote Monday that the 5-foot-9 running back gives Tom Brady and the defending Super Bowl champions a nice pass-catching threat coming out of the backfield.
