An unfavorable forecast in Akron Thursday caused the Ohio High School Athletic Association to delay the start of the state baseball tournament until Friday.
The scheduled start times and order of games will remain the same, but the tournament will now wrap up on Sunday, the OHSAA announced in a press release Wednesday afternoon.
Due to pitch count limitations in baseball, the OHSAA always wants to keep both semifinal games of each division on the same day so that both finalists played their semifinal games on the same day.
Three Cincinnati-area clubs are headed north this weekend with state championship aspirations. Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy (21-8) will now take on Barnesville (24-7) on Friday morning at 10 a.m in the Division III final four.
