AKRON —The return of the Ohio High School Athletic Association's state softball will wait another day.
Whitehouse Anthony Wayne and Pataskala Watkins Memorial began their game at 10:15 a.m. Shortly after 11 a.m. it went into a weather delay in the top of the second with the score tied 2-2. It was postponed just before noon with the teams reconvening at 10 a.m. Friday.
Lakota West softball's originally scheduled Division I state semifinal contest against Massillon Perry will now be played at 12:30 p.m.Friday at Akron's Firestone Stadium.
What else is postponed:
Thursday's Division I regional semifinal games at Day Air Park (Dayton Dragons stadium) have been postponed until Friday.
Mason meets Vandalia Butler at 2 p.m, with St. Xavier and Elder playing at 5 p.m. The winners will play in the regional final with a new start time of 11 a.m Saturday.
Thursday's Division II regional semifinal between Wyoming and Badin is now set for 2 p.m. Friday at Mason.
The Division III regional semifinals scheduled for Thursday at Wright State's Nischwitz Stadium are also postponed for a day. CHCA plays Springfield Shawnee at 2 p.m. Friday now with McNicholas and Cincinnati Country Day playing at 5 p.m. The Raiders home field is field turf.
