Darqueze Dennard, the Bengals' first-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft who played his first six seasons in Cincinnati, signed a one-year deal with the Arizona Cardinals, the team announced Thursday.
The deal reunites Dennard with Cardinals defensive coordinator Vance Joseph, who was the Bengals' defensive backs coach in 2014 and 2015.
Dennard signed with the Falcons last August and played in eight games - making six starts - with one interception for Atlanta last season.
In March, Shawn Williams, a free agent who spent his first eight NFL seasons with the Bengals, agreed to terms on a one-year deal with the Cardinals.
In addition, Johnathan Joseph, a 2006 first-round draft pick of the Bengals who played his first five NFL seasons in Cincinnati, and Dre Kirkpatrick, a 2012 first-round pick of the Bengals who played his first eight NFL seasons in Cincinnati, were among the Cardinals' defensive backs last season.
Receiver A.J. Green also signed with the Cardinals in March after 10 years in Cincinnati.
The three-year deal that Dennard reportedly reached last March with the Jacksonville Jaguars was not finalized, and the unrestricted free agent returned to the open market.
Dennard had three interceptions in his six seasons with the Bengals, including one in 2017 that he returned for a touchdown. He forced three fumbles and recovered one.
