Ohio lifts COVID-19 health orders: Here's what that means for you

All Ohio COVID-19 health orders have officially been lifted.The health orders across the state expired at midnight Wednesday, excluding those for nursing homes and assisted living facilities.That includes the end of the state’s mask mandate.But don't throw away your mask just yet. Although the mask mandate has expired, it does not prevent some businesses from imposing their own requirements.Masks could still be required inside businesses, per the owner's request.Similarly, Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine said businesses and schools across the state are permitted to make their own decisions on the best way to keep customers, employees and students safe.Just over 45% of people in Ohio have been vaccinated, state health officials say.Dr. Bryan Strader, President of TriHealth Physician Partners, still encourages people who have not yet gotten the shot to get one, and as for those who are vaccinated, he says it's time to move forward.“What I don't want to see for myself and my children is to live in a state of anxiety for the next five years and to have to think about wearing a mask. I don't think it's necessary.
