A Miami University ended up in a White House photo with President Joe Biden during an unexpected visit to a Cleveland ice cream shop.
Grace Kelley, 20, a junior majoring in political science, was working at the Honey Hut Ice Cream on State Road in Cleveland Thursday afternoon when she was approached by two men in suits who identified themselves as White House personnel.
About 20 minutes later, the president's motorcade pulled up to the shop, which is located in Old Brooklyn, a neighborhood on Cleveland's west side.
Kelley, who works there as a manager, said she stood outside the building to greet Biden as he arrived.
She had a brief conversation with Biden. He mostly asked her about school, before he offered to take a picture with her.
A photo of the two of them ended up on the president's official Instagram account, @POTUS with the line, "Stay cool this weekend, folks." It has amassed more than half a million likes and more than 7,000 comments as of Monday morning. The account has 18 million followers.
Kelley took a selfie as well, captioned "besties @potus."
"He just asked like, 'Would you like to get a selfie?'...It took me so long to open my phone because my hands were shaking," Kelley said.
Biden stopped for an ice cream cone at Honey Hut after talking about the economy at Cuyahoga Community College, according to a report from Fox8.
