For the 101st time, the Ohio High School Athletic Association will host its boys tennis tournament. The Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason will host the event over two days beginning on Friday, May 28, with the finals on Saturday, May 29.
Here are five storylines to watch as Cincinnati's Division I and II tennis talents take to the courts for runs at state titles.
Cincinnati's 1-2-3 punch
Mason player Vignesh Gogineni earned the district championship and the top seed that went with it, but don't be totally confident in penciling him in as the local most likely to succeed.
Instead, it's a three-way race that needs the state tournament to decide.
Along with Gogineni, St. Xavier's Charlie Temming and Springboro's Sai Dore have been Cincinnati's 1-2-3 punch for the 2021 season. The advantage does lie with Gogineni who beat both Dore in the district semifinal and Temming in the final 6-3, 7-5.
