'For my grandchildren': People share stories about why they got vaccinated

More than 42 percent of the total population in the United States has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. More than 29 percent of Americans are fully vaccinated, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.Dozens of people received either their first or second shot of the Pfizer vaccine on Tuesday at an event in New Orleans East.Each person had a different reason for getting vaccinated.Karisalynn Dell, 17, wants to protect herself and others from getting sick.
