A positive result does a lot for a soccer team. One of the things it did for FC Cincinnati was highlight two prominent people within the club for the performances they gave in Saturday's win against CF Montreal.
Center back Geoff Cameron, who was playing in just his second match with FC Cincinnati, earned one of the first 11 sports in Major League Soccer's Team of the Week.
Head coach Jaap Stam was also named to the team of the week.
Cameron recorded an assist and was heavily involved on the defensive end in Saturday's 2-1 victory.

Stam switched up his tactics and made one surprise personnel move in inserting Caleb Stanko into his starting lineup for the game. Stam's decisions paid off throughout the match.
The recognition should be a nice boost for Stam after he'd been the subject of early-season criticism and "hot-seat" speculation.

Both contributions played a major factor in FC Cincinnati's first win of the season.
The Team of the Week honors were the first for FC Cincinnati since the April 17 season-opener against Nashville SC which saw Luciano Acosta and goalkeeper Przemysław Tytoń recognized in the 2-2 draw with Nashville.
FC Cincinnati returns to action Saturday against New England Revolution at TQL Stadium (3 p.m. kickoff).
