Xavier University's men's basketball team picked up a second offseason transfer Sunday from the Big Ten Conference.
Redshirt junior Jerome Hunter, a 6-foot-7 forward from Indiana University, will join the Musketeers, he announced on Twitter.
Hunter, who's from Pickerington, Ohio, was a medical redshirt as a freshman in 2018-19, then played in 30 games in the 2019-20 season and averaged 3.8 points and 2.1 rebounds.
Hunter played in 25 games last season and averaged 6.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, and shot 25 of 73 from 3-point range.
Hunter, who entered the transfer portal six days ago, is Xavier's second Big Ten transfer since the end of last season, joining Iowa big man Jack Nunge.
The addition of Hunter brings Xavier's roster next season to 13 players. It's a crowded roster for head coach Travis Steele next season, but the forward position could use the depth with Ben Stanley still recovering from a torn ACL and there's still the possibility that incoming freshman Elijah Tucker will be redshirted next season.
