Search crews recover body from lake at East Fork State Park

A woman's body was recovered Sunday after an apparent drowning at William H. Harsha Lake at East Fork State Park.

Search crews recovered the body of woman Sunday morning at Harsha Lake at East Fork State Park in Clermont County, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. 

The ODNR said a woman was hanging off a swim platform attached to a boat when she fell into the lake on Saturday. Her body was found about 1 a.m. Sunday morning. The ODNR reported that the woman was not wearing a life jacket.

An investigation into this incident by the ODNR is still ongoing. 

The ODNR emphasized that watercraft users should always wear a life jacket and operate their equipment responsibly. More information on watercraft safety can be found at watercraft.ohiodnr.gov/lifejackets
