According to the Falls of the Ohio website, it was built with about the same dimensions of Clark's original home, which was destroyed in 1854.The home site itself was home to the American Revolutionary War hero from 1803 to 1809. The entire area is operated by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.DNR Director Dan Bortner issued a statement Friday regarding the fire."It has long served as a peaceful place for Americans to meet, reflect, and celebrate events in their lives. We are deeply saddened by this loss," he said.The DNR Division of Law Enforcement is working with state and local agencies on the investigation. In a statement Friday night, DNR said Fosse was booked on a level 4 felony arson charge.The DNR declined to give additional information.
