Lottery officials announced that the winning ticket for the $515 million Mega Millions jackpot drawn Friday night was purchased in Pennsylvania. One single ticket was the winner.
Winning lottery numbers drawn for the Mega Millions Friday night drawing: 6, 9, 17, 18, 48. The Mega Ball was, 8, and the Megaplier was 3x.
Following the lack of a winner in Tuesday's drawing, the pot grew to $515 million with the cash option of $346.3 million.
Of course there are other monetary prizes to win, such as the five people in Tuesday's drawing that walked away with a Vax-a-Million sized $1 million each.
According to a release from lottery officials, two previous Mega Millions jackpots have been won this year.
A $96 million jackpot was hit by a New York couple on February 16. On January 22, a $1.55 billion prize went to a group of players in Michigan. That was the second-largest jackpot in the history of the game, surpassed only by the $1.537 billion prize won in October 2018.
According to lottery officials, Friday's jackpot was the ninth-largest Mega Millions pot in the history of the game. The largest prize was $1.54 billion in 2018.
In addition to the jackpot, Ohio Lottery officials announced that Karen Bastin of Cincinnati won a $1 million annuity prize in the Ohio Lottery’s $30 scratch-off, Extreme Millions.
She purchased her winning ticket at the Speedway which is located at 2691 Springdale Road in Cincinnati.
Bastin will receive $40,000 a year for the next 25 years, before federal and state tax withholdings. As of May 21, there are 23 prizes $1 million annuity prize remaining as well as two, $10 million annuity top prizes. She beat odds of one in 468,065 to win.
Saturday night's Powerball drawing is an estimated $218 million. The drawing is held at 10:59 p.m.
